You may have additional questions after your consultation and we would like to take a moment to review some points with you. Sometimes, it helps to have family members or a spouse visit our facility, meet our physicians, and see before and after photos of the Lifestyle Lift. The Lifestyle Lift is a small version of a facelift that can deliver big results. It is exclusively designed to improve sagging jowls, frown lines, wrinkles and loose skin on the face and neck. It was created as a more efficient and easier way to address these concerns than a more invasive, traditional procedure. Recovery is quick, often with minimal discomfort, swelling and bruising. We describe it as a new procedure for a new generation!
What does the Lifestyle Lift do?
When people reach their 40s, gravity, heredity, sun exposure and the stresses of daily life begin to take their toll on the human face. The jaw line grows slack and jowls begin to form. Fatty deposits and loose skin begin to appear in the lower face and neck. Creases form between the nose and mouth. These changes tend to make people look older than they feel.
The Lifestyle Lift can improve these obvious signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and tightening and smoothing the skin of the face and neck. The procedure restores your jaw line and neck, helping create a more youthful appearance. The results can be dramatic and some clients even see and feel the improvement before they leave the office!
The Lifestyle Lift can do great things to enhance your appearance and self-confidence. It can be performed alone or with eyelid tightening procedures (blepharoplasty), which help reduce the signs of aging around the eyes, as well as other procedures. Together, they are potent tools to help restore your appearance.
Who are the best candidates for the Lifestyle Lift?
The best candidates for the Lifestyle Lift are men and women who have begun to see the signs of aging in their faces from sagging skinandjowls, looseness in the neck, etc.
Most patients are in their 40s to 60s, but the procedure can be done safelyin people who are in their 70s and 80s, who are in good health. Our staff obtains careful medical histories.
Patients with chronic medical problems that are well controlled with medication may also be candidates for the Lifestyle Lift. If there are any concerns about your health, we will consult with your family physician to make certain that proceeding is medically safe.
How long has this procedure been performed?
Facelift procedures have been performed safely for more than 50 years. The Lifestyle Lift was introduced in 2001 as a new alternative to the traditional, more extensive facelifts.
In fact, in the last few years throughout medicine, there has been a trend of moving away from extensive, long and involved procedures (such as a traditional facelift) to simpler, quicker and safer procedures (such as the Lifestyle Lift).
By concentrating exclusively on the Lifestyle Lift, our surgeons have become the nation’s facial rejuvenation experts. They perform tens of thousands of procedures each year at centers across the country!
Where is the Lifestyle Lift performed?
The Lifestyle Lift is performed in our specially equipped procedure suites within the Lifestyle Lift centers. Theatmosphere is relaxed andprofessional. We use only state-of-the-art medical, sterilization, and safety equipment and techniques.
The procedure is done with the patient on a comfortable reclining-type of chair. Usually soft music is playing and we make every effort for you to feel as comfortable and as relaxed as possible.
Safety of the Lifestyle Lift
Your safety is our No. 1 concern. Doctors at Lifestyle Lift offices across the country have safely performed more than 100,000 procedures. The statistics support the fact that it is an extremely safe procedure with few risks or complications.
Still, any surgical procedure carries some uncertainties and risks. However small they may be, our staff and physicians will carefully discuss them with you, and take the time to answer all of your questions and concerns.
Anesthesia Information
Once again, your safety is our No. 1 concern. With the use of local anesthesia, the area is numb and no discomfort is felt during your procedure. We have used this method of anesthesia in 100,000 cases with excellent results.
We can even administer a mild sedative for patients who are nervous. If a patient wishes this sedative, he or she must have someone present to drive home.
Who performs my Lifestyle Lift?
The Lifestyle Lift is performed exclusively by our expertly qualified, highly skilled surgeons. Each surgeon has an extensive backgroundin Facial Plastic Surgery and is individually selected by Dr. David M. Kent, our founder.
We closely review each doctor’s safety record, training, demeanor and board certification before selection, and then further train each to specialize in the Lifestyle Lift. Since our surgeons have just one focus – the Lifestyle Lift – they have become the country’s facial rejuvenation experts.
You will not find a group of surgeons more dedicated to excellence and your well-being than our group of specialists. Be assured that you are in the safest and best of hands.
How is the Lifestyle Lift performed?
On the day of your procedure, you will arrive at the Lifestyle Lift center at a designated time assigned to you. One of our professionals will take care of necessary financial and other paperwork items, including the appropriate informed consents.
We will then prepare you for the procedure. Your surgeon will review the procedure with you and answer any remaining questions. Then we will administer a local anesthetic and begin the procedure, which lasts from one to two hours, depending on what’s scheduled to be done.
You should not feel any discomfort during the procedure. You are safe, awake and relaxed. At the conclusion of the procedure, the surgical tech will clean the operative areas and apply small, Steri-Strip bandages.
Best of all, the tech will allow you to look in the mirror to see the new you! Someone will also review post-operative instructions and medications, plus provide you with a detailed instruction sheet.
How does the Lifestyle Lift differ from other facelifts and cosmetic procedures?
This is one of the most frequent questions we receive from those interested in facial rejuvenation. There are some very important differences between the Lifestyle Lift and other plastic surgery procedures:
1. Type of Anesthesia
Your safety is of utmost importance for the entire staff at Lifestyle Lift. Since there are potential risks associated with general and IV anesthesia, the Lifestyle Lift is performed using only local anesthesia. That means unnecessary risks are not an issue with the Lifestyle Lift.
Rest assured that you’ll be completely comfortable during the Lifestyle Lift procedure, thanks to the local anesthesia used to numb your face. Our staff will be at your side throughout your procedure to make sure that you’re comfortable and experiencing no pain.
2. Length of Procedure
Unlike traditional facelifts which can drag on for hours, the Lifestyle Lift has raised attention throughout the world for the short time required to complete the procedure. Although the actual length of the procedure will vary based on the specific aspects of the Lifestyle Lift you’d like performed, there are many cases where the procedure takes about one hour!
3. Length of Recovery
Once your Lifestyle Lift is complete, expect a swift recovery. Most Lifestyle Lift patients return to their regular schedules within a matter of days, with minimal disruption to their lives.
Because the Lifestyle Lift is much less intrusive than most traditional facelifts, the small, hidden incisions used in the Lifestyle Lift heal much more quickly. Occasionally, slight bruising may occur, but healing is quick and bruising is usually minor enough to be easily covered with makeup or concealer.
What happens after my Lifestyle Lift?
After your procedure, we’ll review your specific post-operative instructions. Most people benefit from taking it easy the rest of the day. Applying ice or cold compresses to the affected areas, and keeping your head elevated will help reduce swelling and bruising. In addition, your doctor will prescribe medications for relief of discomfort and to reduce the risk of infection.
The day following your surgery, you may shower and wash your hair. You may be cleared to wear makeup, but must avoid getting it on the incision lines. Most patients experience some swelling and bruising, and prefer to take a few days off from activities. You should also refrain from heavy activities, such as bending and lifting, etc., until your sutures have been removed. Common sense will dictate when normal activities can resume.
What if I have additional questions before my procedure?
Educated patients do better than uneducated patients before, during and after their procedures. That’s why we encourage anyone to call our offices … at any time … with any questions. Most questions can be answered over the phone. If you would like to speak to your physician again, for any reason, please call and we will arrange another consultation. Please do not hesitate to call!
And remember: The first step in starting down the path to a renewed outlook on life is the no-cost, no-obligation Lifestyle Lift consultation. This consultation allows you to meet with Lifestyle Lift staff to discuss what to expect during your Lifestyle Lift.
What is the free consultation like?
When you arrive for your Lifestyle Lift consultation, you’ll be welcomed by professional staff members who will be able to answer all of your questions regarding the procedure. The staff will carefully explain details about the Lifestyle Lift, how it works and what you can expect.
Equally important is that you’ll be asked to convey what your specific areas of concern are and what results you would like to see from the procedure. The Lifestyle Lift representative will listen carefully to your areas of concern, whether it’s sagging skin, droopy eyes, turkey neck or something else, and then discuss how the Lifestyle Lift can help improve those specific areas.
Why should I go to a Lifestyle Lift consultation?
The no-cost, no-obligation Lifestyle Lift consultation allows you to speak one-on-one with a Lifestyle Lift expert about the procedure, and how it will impact you and your needs specifically. The consultation also permits you and a medical professional to make sure that you are a good candidate for the procedure.
